The society in which we live is marked by different power relations (racism, sexism, etc…). These power relations also make themselves noticeable on this very camp. They produce structural exclusions, hierarchies, dominances and traumas. They equip certain people with privileges, from which they structurally exclude others – that means not only in individual cases but on a broad basis. That can practically mean that certain people won’t get their word in edgewise on general assemblies, or that others often dominate discussions. Or that positions of speakers are taken unenequally serious. Amongst other things, through the way in which we communicate with each other, we either contribute towards reestablishing power relations over and over again, or towards questioning these.

„Deportations make us barfing!“ Charter-deportation-airport Dusseldorf transformed into a protest-zone

.
.
.
On saturday, 21st of July 2012, about 800 people participated in manifestations and demonstrations outside and inside the Dusseldorf airport against deportations. It started with speeches from the Voice Refugee Forum and „Youth without borders“ at the station, afterwards the demonstration went into direction of the terminal. On the route another protest-speech took place in front of Gate Gourmet and Klüh in reference to the exploitation and resistance of mainly migrant workers in these service companies. Second station was gate 36 and the buildings behind, because from here the charter-deportations are organised, which are first of all directed against Roma-families. Two activists from Roma-initiatives got long applause for an impressive speech accusing this injustice and announcing increasing resistance. The network „stop deportation“ added the critizism against Air-Berlin as profiteer of the deportation business. Afterwards the demonstration reached the terminals, and although the police tried to limit with a big and restrictive police-operation the access into the building to only 300 participants, finally about 600 protestors came together for a loud and powerful indoor-demonstration.
Already in the morning an info-stand was established inside the terminal close to the Air-Berlin check-in-area. Speeches and a press-conference had the same focus: the resistance against the charter-deportations to Serbia and Kosovo, financed by Frontex and organised with Air-Berlin. The living conditions of deported Roma-families have been documented by an exhibition, through video-screenings some affected persons have been represented.
While the samba-band, which has been excluded by police from inside the terminal because of „too loud“ instruments, offered their rhythms of resistance outside, the indoor-program continued with more speeches, theater and a memorial for the death victims of the EU-borderregime.
Finally an action with gas-balloons suceeded, a banner with „unf-air-berlin“ could be brought into air. „Stewardesses“, dressed in „unf-air-berlin“ uniforms, distributed respective info-tickets as well as barf bags with the slogan: „Air Berlin: deportations make us barfing!“
70.000 people – passengers and visitors – should cross the dusseldorf airport on this saturady according the police-informations. At least a few thousands of these visitors came into touch with our loud and colourful protests, which happened between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. simultaniously on various places. Often we experienced an interested or even supporting feedback. Such a manifould action never happened in the Dusseldorf airport ever before. And we hope, that this experience will contribute to strengthen the necessary continuous mobilisations: the next charter deportation to Serbia is already announced by the authorities for wednesday, 1st of August. And the network „stop deportation“ and the Roma-initiatives started the call to come for another protest in front of the gate 36 at the same day.

Abschiebungen stoppen – Alle bleiben!

zentralen Ausländerbehörde hier in NRW.

Please Bring your Info Material!

the noborder camp 2012 is getting closer,
it will start on friday!. At the moment many busy helping hands are
setting up the big circus tents etc..

There is one question to everybody who is coming to the camp, but aswell
to everybody who will not make it:
Please bring your info material, material concerning your
antiracist/racist critical work of your group!

Maybe you have some good flyers, small brochures, newspapers or fancied
stickers, even if is older material. Most of the things will unfortunately
still be on topic. As well maybe you find in your rooms sleeping in a
corner some exhibitions or summaries of your work. Just bring it to the
camp!

Networking also means exchange, to get to know the work of each other.
Therefor: It would be great, if you bring some info material. or if you
hand it to people who will go.
The idea is an info-table where all of the infomaterail ist collected and
everybody can see it.

perfect! thanks so much!
See you soon!

Flüchtlinge protestieren in Düsseldorf für ein Bleiberecht!

.

The tragic situation that we have now, just need a fight to change it

Mohammad Rahsepar’s suicide created a wave of resistance against asylum seeker’s situation in Germany. This resistance focus on the tremendous situation of the asylum seekers. Nevertheless the connection of a lot of asylum seeker’s problems and their inhuman situation to the ignorance of German asylum officials is more then visible, this suicide showed to many asylum seekers the future that could be as well their own future. People in resistance within the last 100 days got hope, hope for a better future, created by themselves.

The most important for us, asylum seeker from the camp in Aub is to fight for our human rights. Rights making no difference between the various religions, birth or colour of the skin. We are afghans, iranians or arabs. We are human being who created a voice for their dream.

Not only for me, not only for you, but for us

We, „the asylum seeker from Aubheim“ are asking for:

1) Abolition of deportation laws

We are of the opinion that in a free world everyone should be free to decide where he wants to live. Asylum seeker’s deportation is frequently connected to the economical and political situation of the country, where he/she should live. This is an absolutely inhuman treatment.

2) Abolition of the limited room to move for asylum seeker

We are forced to frequent people only in a certain and limited way, while we are living in a country which has no border to other European countries. This sistematical isolation of the asylum seeker is an unacceptable and inhuman treatment.

3) Abolition of laws forcing us to live in asylum camps

What does asylum camp significate? What does it significate except asylum seeker being forced to live in place surrounded by walls? Walls separating us from social life. We are asking for the abolition of asylum camps as well as stopping to create these situations for them.

4) The process of asking for asylum

Everyone of us is waiting since long time now for the answer concerning his asylum. Very rarely we got answer until today. This waiting period significates some kind of psychological torture to us. Therefore we are asking for an adequate and known period of time regarding the answer of asylum.

5) Food packages

It is not difficult to understand and imagine, that an adult should decide for himself what and when to eat. Receiving food packages violates the minimum human rights. We are urgently asking to leave it up to us, what we would like to eat.

6) Working allowance

Asylum seeker are good for nothing. Due to media reports upon asylum seekers, this reflects German opion. We have only one question: how can we proof, that this is wrong? We are asking for working allowance already during the asylum process. This would allow them to became indipendent from maintenance by the state.

7) German language

It is part of the systematical isolation of asylum seekers, that they have any possibility to learn the German language. We think, it is our right, to have the possibility to learn German.

8) Right to decide by own’s own it’s place residence

It is impossible in Germany to choose your place residence, even in case the residence of your family is in another part of Germany.

We are asking: Leave those decisions up to us, asylum seekers!

In order to realize our above mentioned rights we united in solidarity with asylum seekers from other German cities. Our first step was to refuse the foodpackages since 2 July. We refuse to stay in the camp and spent last night outside. Today (3 July) we will unite at the center and won’t stop until our rights are granted to us.

Furthermore we call on the solidarity of asylum seekers worldwide to fight for us for our common rights. We know, it will be a long way to realize our dreams, but we are ready to go for it.

Break Isolation! Demo for refugees’ rights

Saturday, 23 JUNE 2012, 12.30 p.m., Hannover, Bahnhofstraße (in front of the central station)

Dear refugees, asylum seekers, friends and supporters,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

you are hereby cordially called to demonstrate and support us while breaking isolation and demonstrating for the change, improvement and the establishment of our basis refugee’s and human rights. According to the german law concerning social well-fare and asylum procedures for refugees and asylum seekers, we; the refugees and asylum seekers, are forced to live in bad and isolated conditions:

Every year we are waiting, without an idea when our asylum procedures will be ended and when we will start living without being afraid to be send back in our home countries, where we face war, political instability, life threats and others kind of practice which endanger our basis of fundamental rights.

Everyday we face discrimination related to the whole treatments we receive during the procedures for granting us the right of asylum or after when it is finished. It is why we are asking now the ”Refugee’s Rights right here, right now!”

Every time we are afraid; living under threats of deportation of ourselves or for one member of our family or our friends. Our life is restricted, with no right to move freely, with no right to have basis education opportunity, with no right to work or to have activity to generate revenues for our own, with no right to choose the place to live. Only the law and right to make us ill and depressive, the law to destroy our human-being and to make us crazy.

Every month, we are receiving “Gutscheine” instead of money, it is a shame for our human dignity, we are not allowed to buy what we want, everywhere we go; we can not pay things we need, it is not enough to end the whole month, but it is only discriminating practice we are victims of the system!

That is why we are asking you to join us to say: ”Refugee’s Rights right here, right now!”;

• Right to stay for all refugees and asylum seekers instead of deportation,

• Closing all asylum seeker’s camps and isolated accomodations,

• Money instead of the “Gutscheinsystem”

• Education, work and opportunities for apprenticeship for all,

• Abolish all discriminating laws and human rights for refugee’s too,

We would like to ask you to spread the information about the demonstration among your friends and those who might be interested to support us.

Your presence will be highly appreciated:

See you all in June.
